We had a wonderful time with my parents in Cambria. We had rain and lots of exciting lightning and thunder one day, but other than that it was clear, cool breezy and sunny!
We celebrated my Dad’s 68th birthday with thick steaks, artichokes, twice-stuffed baked potatoes and cherry and blueberry pies for dessert. Oh my heavens. It was wonderful.
Hot-tubbin’.
Grandmom’s favorite reading nook.
My mom was the superstar chef. Well… superstar everything. She blesses me (and my family) all. the. time. Here she’s letting Rachel “help” by shaking up the salad dressing.
We attended Cal Poly’s Open House on Saturday April 14. It was the perfect day to show our kids around.
We started off the morning with a College of Engineering breakfast for alumni. Boy did I feel old.
The devoted Mr. Garland in front of the Kennedy library (I studied there a LOT) with the white “P” on the hillside.
Assembling robots in Mott Gym at the SWE (Society of Women Engineers) booth. We were in engineering heaven.
Josh’s Robobug gets ahold of Grandad.
So glad I got to attend this great school.
Snack break… Cal Poly ice cream from the campus store.

Sarah is distracted by rollie pollies.
Don’t you just want to eat this place up?
Down at the cave. The craggy shoreline is full of adventures.
Sarah found a bunch of moonstones!
Date night: Amazing fish tacos at the Taco Temple in Morro Bay.
Elephant seals near San Simeon. These guys have the life.
San Simeon Pier.
Hearst Castle, as seen from the telescope at the visitor’s center. We enjoyed the movie (thanks Matt and Stacy!), but we’ll take the tour when we get a little bit older.
Window washers on departure day.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for a fabulous weekend!!
