Stormageddon 2014… sever weather warning… we got 3 days of rain and wind.
Oooooooh! Scary. Rachel and I took a rainy day hike:

=================
My good friend Beth and I ran/walked 4 miles along the coast highway followed by a yummy breakfast. It dumped rain on us (hail too!) for about 10 minutes, but we also got to see both ends of an awesome rainbow out over the ocean:

My coconut custard stuffed french toast was di-vine but definitely not de-void of calories:

Also, I recently went running with my good friend Laura (6.5 miles). Thankful for good friends:

My solo lunch after my 6.5mi run with Laura: Chipotle fajita burrito, great book, and the wall street journal. I’m convinced I only run so I can eat.

Zac’s craft from his “around the world” class… Egypt:

SJZ helped make “asparagus fries” for dinner one night:

==============
6 of us headed to the zoo on a wet Sunday morning (we typically attend our church’s evening service), and sure it was a little rainy and cool, but the normal sunny day weekend crowds were scared off, which made it perfect in our book.
I packed a thermos of hot water and several hot chocolate envelopes for a warm-up at lunch. I told the kids if they stepped in any puddles, their name was “MUD.” I say that a lot.

We took several rides around the park on the double decker Zoo busses. The bus covering helped us to stay dry:

The polar bears loved the rain… back stroking and diving into the water:

I try not to post too many animal photos, because they are boring! Sorry but I had to put a few in.

The view from the bus:

Me and my hero:

Top deck on the bus (the rain stopped, yay!)… great views of all the animals:
