Gone Camping

A little walk down memory lane… 2009 camping at our annual church camping trip Dos Picos Campground (near Ramona), before Rachel was born:

Yellow Happy Flowers

I often drive by this vacant lot on my way to Costco, full of happy yellow goodness, so I finally got my act together, combed the kids hair (and put collar shirts on the boys) and snapped some sunset shots in the field before the wildflowers are gone…

Army birthday party, Awana quiz night, YMCA sports

Our friend David had an army birthday party, complete with airsoft competitions, dune buggy rides and ziplines:

Father-Daughter date night.  Sarah got to have the devoted Mr. Garland all to herself at Boomers (a mini-golf attraction park):

Sarah participated on her AWANA quiz team Saturday night (blue box #11)… 12 multiple choice questions followed by a speed round.  She studied her bible verses so hard and had them down by heart!

Here she is at the microphone in the speed round.. she was the only clubber to “quiz out” (answer two questions correctly and you get to leave, a good thing) so she took first place for the 4th grade girls!

Laura (purple) and I ran 11 miles with our friend Paige (pink)… the catch is that Paige ran 9 miles BEFORE we met her at 7am to run our 11!  That’s a total of 20 miles… WOWzers!  Paige is training for her first full marathon that she will run in Utah in 3 weeks… awesome!

Best 11-mi run I’ve had in a loooong time.  I feel ready for the Orange County half marathon Laura and I are running in a few weeks!
