Josh just finished taking a robotics class with other homeschool friends. They built their own robots that did specific functions: played soccer, would react to sunlight, would grab your hand if you moved it in a certain zone. Such great boys! Thanks Alison for hosting!!

All 6 of us got to go to Legoland together in October… a rare treat! We signed up for both of their Mindstorm classes… “Dr. Heartbeat” and “Exploration” and loved them both. Mindstorms is basically Lego’s robotics line, which we are huge fans of.
Rides, schm-ides! We love just sitting at the many lego build areas and creating something fun!
A special treat: apple fries.
Dr. Heartbeat Mindstorms:
Sarah Josh and Zac did both mindstorms classes. You basically have a task that your robot needs to complete, and you program it to get the job done.

Right around the corner from Legoland is a museum we’ve never been to, and I bought a groupon a while back, so we finally went to the Museum of Making Music.
The displays were fantastic, but oh my what a TREAT the hands-on instrument stations were! Everyone got to try out a new musical instrument (or eight!).
Even the devoted Mr. Garland got in some steel drum action:
