Sarah’s orthodontist’s office is right across from the library, as well as around the corner from this…

Rancho Buena Vista Adobe… a farm house that was built in 1845. We’ll be studying some California History this year, so this was a perfect first outing.

Walls of the Adobe were nearly 3 feet thick! Talk about stout construction.

The nicest lady, Margie, offered to give us an on the spot 10-minute tour of the Adobe. She made my day… and made the tour super interesting for the kids. So thankful!
Here Margie’s showing the kids the “toaster” – a burning candle on the inside with bread on the outside, toasting.

Makes me feel like the start of school is just around the corner… oh! it is!

The Children’s Museum… aka a glorified children’s play area:

Water table with all sorts of measuring spoons and cups.

Last week’s 10-mi run with Jen. It was h-o-t. We were drenched afterwards!

Eeking out the last few fun days of summer vacation at the beach (Sarah with her good friends).

Summer 2012’s to-do list: Tennis. Check!
I snapped pics of the kids on the first and last days of school last year… wanted to get them on my blog before I forgot. What a difference a year makes.

Wow… check out the change in Josh’s teeth!

We’re excited for a new school year to start! Well, sort of! Ha.
I will truly miss our slow sleep-in mornings. Such is life… will someone please just tell me to just get over it?
