S’mores bonfire at Moonlight beach:
Isn’t that light simply delicious?
=====================
How to start off a 3 day weekend right: a lovely run on the PCH with 3 fabulous friends: Jennifer, Jen and Jenni (l to r). I have it so easy to remember everyone’s name! Actually, it’s so wonderful… each name is so unique to each of my friends. It may seem funny, but they are each so unique in my book. If you can believe it, I actually get their names mixed up sometimes. Jenni! I mean Jen! But that’s equivalent to saying Michelle! I mean Kate!
Our goal was 13.1mi but we overshot it by a bit (14.5mi total) and loved every step of it.
Yes, I took a huge nap afterwards. I AM 40 years old!

Over the weekend we headed out to explore some things that we should have seen/done by now that we’ve lived here in San Diego for 5 years now.
(And the devoted Mr. Garland just celebrated 5 years working for Philips Healthcare, woot woot!)
Old Town here we come!
After our stop at Old Town, we rode bikes around Mission Bay. Totally reminds me of Newport Beach/Balboa. Sand volleyball games going on everywhere!
Near the jetty.
Cooling off in Mission Bay after our bike ride.
Double jointed much? (Ouch!)

Labor Day activity: water balloons at the park.
If you were the water balloon, this is what you’d see (just before you died):
The tossing.
“Use a wet car washing sponge to fill the cup” relay.
And yes, it was assumed that the water games would end in mass wet chaos.
We’ve been playing quite a bit of volleyball recently…here’s Zac, looking like a stud.
========
Sarah, Pearl and I snuggle on the couch as we practice spelling.
The eco-friendly way to wash our car. We saw our neighbor do it so we had to give it a try.
We have been getting ahead in our school work recently so we could take a day off this week to visit Disneyland. Man oh man are we spoiled. Our kids don’t know how good they have it. We joined our good friends the Cliffs for a little “early entry” love at Disneyland. As passholders, we can get in 1 hour early (9am) on select days. Let me tell you, you can get a LOT done in that one hour!
This is our first visit after the long summer block out calendar, so it was so fun to see all the new attractions that opened at the beginning of the summer, such as the Matterhorn and the very popular Carsland. The Matterhorn was recently refurbished and it’s been 20 years since I’ve been on that ride. So smooth… even Zac rode it twice. The weather was simply perfect. A nice cloud cover (it can get HOT!) with a few sprinkles here and there to keep us cool.
Hello Peter Pan ride, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder, Dumbo, Carsland, and Winnie the Pooh, just to name a few.
We “only” lost Zac twice. Good thing the ole’ “write my cell number on his arm with a Sharpie” trick works like a charm every time. I’d rather not have to resort to that, though. Ugh.
Mary (the Cliff’s Grandma) with the little kids and Winnie the Pooh.
Big kids with the dog from UP (can’t remember his name right now).
The big girls on the Grizzly River Run.
Mrs. Cliff and the older kids on Splash Mountain.
Zac, Rachel and me on Dumbo.
Fun water fountains near Paradise Pier at California Adventure. We got drippin’ drenched.
Our whole crew: 1 Grandma, 2 Moms and 8 kids.
