Mental note of tips for our next outing…
- Arrive Oceanside early to buy $10 weekend pass, there will be a line, and the train doesn't wait for you. Heh heh.
- Table seats on the second floor with outlets rock.
- No train wrap (see sheep on train below)... Obstructs ocean window views.
- LA subways are fun for the experience.
- Try to sit in first car.
- Take the earliest train possible (less crowded) and enjoy the surfers catching waves in Camp Pendleton.
- Bring a deck of cards and tons of snacks.
- Know when the last train home leaves.
- Having water and bathrooms on board is fantastic.
Itinerary:
- Oceanside
- San Juan Capistrano (Zoomar’s petting zoo: guinea pigs, goats, & corn pit)
- Los Angeles’ Union Station
- Red line subway to Hollywood walk of Fame
- Back to Union Station, then light rail gold line to Chinatown for ice cream at Scoops
- Back home… for chinese food dinner
