I usually try to find one good April fools trick for the kids… this year I swapped out the mayonnaise in the mayo jar for vanilla pudding.
The kids’ jaws hit the floor as I shoveled a big scoop of “mayo” into my mouth that morning.
Zac made a “box” car (it’s a ford mustang, if you can’t tell) for his Awana Sparky movie “drive-in” night. They watched a Veggie Tale movie:
Rachel and Zac played for hours in the box. Oh the simple joys:
Park day friends Violet, Sarah and Addie:
Josh, ready for coop… with his guitar on his back and backpack on the front:
Elliot and Rachel:
Sarah’s zoology class had a snail race:
In related news, we watched the movie “Turbo” on family movie night last weekend. A fun, sweet flick! Go, snails go!
Resurrection Rolls in preschool (representing the empty tomb):
Sarah had fun competing in the CFS spelling bee (back row middle in pink shirt):
This is what I often look like sitting at my computer. This is also why I nap regularly:
Our friend David’s birthday party… the Goodings made a fantastic huge boogie board sized cookie (see the small umbrellas on the table). Have you ever seen so many wetsuits?
Ryland, Charlotte and Rachel:
Swimming with the Metzler Family… I love that Renee and Sarah have matching swimsuits (not planned):
Our dishwasher drives me nuts. Trying to figure out why we don’t get clean dishes by cleaning out every filter/screen we can find. Thankful for the devoted Mr. Garland.
Josh wanted to play ping pong one day, so he went out to the workshop and made his own ping pong paddle:
Our kitchen table made for a good ping – pong table. We built a net out of legos. Zac playing with neighbor friends Brody and Jazlyn:
A fun new game, Allowance:
Our regular favorite hike around Lake Calavera:
We’ve been making a lot of challah recently. Braids and turtles (and sometimes bears):
We got passes to Legoland, so fair warning, lots of Legoland photos ahead. 4 Garlands on 1 slide (Legoland Waterpark):
Sarah and Zac in the lazy river. It’s gonna be a fun summer:
Miniland:
Jeff and Josh spent the night on the Star of India, learning how this old ship operates (thanks to Kim for the photo!):
Josh dressed up as Ronald Reagan for a fun Wax Museum event. He handed out Reagan’s favorite candy… jelly beans!
Lastly, a UCSD baseball game with the Avilas and Goffs:
Rob is one of the team coaches, so we get to go behind the scenes a bit. These kids know how to have fun together:
What a treat to run the bases after the game. Thanks Avilas!
Now, onto May!
