Once in a lifetime, times two.
FYI…a golden birthday is when your birth date matches your age…it’s a made up thing… just makes it fun when it happens.
We love numbers, so when a golden birthday happens, we go all out and make a cake.
When two golden birthdays happen within one week, we actually have a party with friends.
Rachel turned 4yo on February 4, and a week later, Sarah turned 11 on February 11:
We had a simple backyard party, with several wonderful families from our homeschooling group.
Our good friends the Sackers let us borrow their most fun and awesome jump house. So that was in our front driveway.
The devoted Mr. Garland came up with activity stations that we set up around our front and back yards. Mind you we Californians do not have large yards, so we basically tried to use every spare inch that we could find. We had a big age range of kids, so it was fun to come up with easy things for the 2 year olds, and more challenging events for the 14 year olds.
Activity stations: Lilly Pads, Walking Planks (4 man skis), Push Cart, Balance Beam, Basketball Shoot, Toss/Clap/Catch, Stilt Walk, and 6-kid Pyramid.
Such a fun way to celebrate our two golden girls.
