Our first trip to Lake Tahoe! Jewel of the Sierra Nevadas. I’d heard the lake was clear, blue and amazing. It was. The 6 of us drove 9 hours (we left at 4am – hello!?) on the scenic Sierra Nevada back route (highway 395 north) to Tahoe City, CA to meet up with my mom and dad, James (my brother) and his wife Lauren, and their 3 kids, Nikayla 8, Brooke 5 and Carter (nearly 3yo!). We enjoyed time together as a family… oh and my brother did this little race thingy, but more about that in my next post. We enjoyed throwing (hundreds) of pebbles into the lake, plenty of bike rides, and hang-time with our cousins and family.
Sarah proves we really left at 4am:
Mono Lake… felt like we were on the surface of the moon:
My parents rented this sweet house just steps away from the water’s edge:

Aerial Tram ride up to the top of the mountain for some swimming (!):
Thank goodness there was a hot tub… we nearly froze in the wind!

We had an impromptu talent show every night:
